Robert S. Spivey – Director of Operations

Mr. Spivey has more than 40 years of direct, hands-on experience in civil engineering and construction with a focus on utility and infrastructure projects.  He founded CSSI in 1985 and saw it grow from a single contract worth a few thousand dollars to what was an entrenched competitor in the North Carolina marketplace.

Day-to-day, Robert works closely on all key projects managing risks, increasing efficiencies, and providing engineering insight to some of the best-heeled General Contractors in the United States.  He has managed more than $700 million in utility projects while maintaining safety standards and consistently exceeding customer demands.

Mr. Spivey holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University.
