Collaborating to Quickly Solve Problems
The quick teamwork from Cardinal Civil and Civil Drilling & Blasting helped keep this warehouse project on schedule when more than anticipated rock was uncovered.
The 31-acre Rock Creek industrial site in Whitsett, NC, for ARCO Design Build needed a full-service infrastructure developer to deliver innovate solutions on a tight turnaround. With more hard rock on site than anticipated, our teams at Cardinal Civil and Civil Drilling & Blasting quickly collaborated to break up the rock and reuse as much as possible on site for wall backfill, structural fill and pipe bedding.
Our drill rigs and utility crews worked during February’s snow and ice to keep production moving and deliver the two large building pads before the end of April.
We also had to innovate on the permanent pond materials, using a synthetic clay liner due to clay scarcity onsite. For this project, the team provided grading, retaining walls, underground utilities, drilling and blasting, and onsite materials crushing.
