Ascend Varina Gateway

Cardinal Civil Contracting was hired by DHI Communities, the multifamily arm of DR Horton, to perform turn key site services for this 15-acre apartment site.  Scope included clearing and erosion, grading, sanitary, storm, and water facilities and stone, curb, and paving.  Site began construction in early 2021 in a very wet season but by working with the client as well as on site geo-tech were able to maintain the strict schedule.

Site construction included demolition of an existing pond and reconstructing a large permanent pond.  Cardinal Civil was able to make advanced progress by utilizing the existing on-site pond as a temporary sediment basin in order to gain erosion compliance and begin grading the site ahead of schedule.  The site also includes a turn lane addition to Highway 55 in Fuquay Varina.
